A Question
We are often asked, “how can I help out with BlockTanks?” This is a question I am grateful people ask because it shows that players genuinely want the game to grow and do well. We appreciate all of the current volunteers who help us, including moderators, community managers, map makers, content creators, and artists!
While this post will talk about the previously mentioned opportunities, I want to first highlight a quick, easy, and effective way to really help out BlockTanks: follow us and share us on social media!
As discussed in the first newsletter, we use Discord to communicate with our current player base, and it works decently well for that. However, it’s not the best at finding new players, or keeping in touch with people who play BlockTanks infrequently. To solve this problem, we are going to post frequently to our new social media pages:
Instagram: https://instagram.com/blocktanks
Twitter/X: https://x.com/blocktanksio
Facebook: https://facebook.com/blocktanks
Since these pages have not been used much until now, they have a pretty small number of followers. However, if they got more followers, perhaps ✨the algorithm✨ would pick up the posts and help gain more players!

So if you already use any of those sites, why not do us a favor and give us a follow, a mention, and/or a share? 🙂
Livestreaming On YouTube
A long time ago, we used to be somewhat active on Twitch. It was a good way to connect with players, but it was also exhausting and I got burnt out doing it. However, I finally feel like I’m in a place where I can start this up again, and I plan to personally start livestreaming again on the official BlockTanks YouTube channel:
YouTube: https://youtube.com/@blocktanks
(We will no longer use Twitch at all)
While I don’t have a concrete schedule yet, I am going to try streaming every other week or so. If you want to see content such as:
- devs vs community matches
- clan wars
- art contests
- gameplay reviews
- player shoutouts
then subscribe to the channel so you don’t miss any streams!
Other Ways to Help BlockTanks
Most of our volunteering is coordinated through our Discord server, so if you are interested in that, you would want to go there. Usually, we send out an application form when we are looking for new volunteers, such as moderators and community managers. This ties back to the main point of the article – stay tuned to our social media and you won’t miss an application 😉
To be a map maker or artist, all you really need to do is send us your work, and we’ll take a look at it! We can’t make any guarantees that we’ll use your work in the game, but we’ll at least try to give you pointers/suggestions for how to improve.
Lastly, if you are a content creator, you can partner with BlockTanks and get a in-game item that represents your channel. Here is an example partnership with a YouTuber named ihavelocity:

Hopefully this post helps show you some of the ways to get involved with BlockTanks, and as always, let us know if you have any questions or thoughts!
Sincerely,
Kevin Champagne

P.S. Stay tuned for the next announcement, as we will be revealing new maps coming to the BlockTanks public matches!
