Hey all! I’m excited to finally be able to write here. I’m SirDrone, our main active developer at this time, and I need your help.

We have a lot of debates in our Discord server over what should be prioritized in our 2025 Roadmap and what is likely going over to 2026.

I put together a survey to help end the rows and build our core plan for this year. That survey will be below. Before I get there though, it may help to understand how our roadmap is currently structured (you can skip to the survey though if you’d like!)

Roadmap Primer

Here’s our initial roadmap.

What you need to know about this roadmap:

• Each effort is stored as a “card”
• Each card has labels that represent what function it serves in Blocktanks
• Each card also has a Point-value (the “P”) followed by a number
  • Here’s a rough point-breakdown:
    • 1-point -> one-to-three work hours
    • 2-points -> two-to-six work hours
    • 3-points ->a full workday (~eight work hours)
    • 5-points -> Three full workdays
    • 8-points -> A workweek
    • 13-points -> Two workweeks
    • 21-points -> A month
    • Etc., it’s a corporate strategy based on Fibonacci to help understand level-of-effort
  • This is all approximate; things sometimes get more involved, demands may increase, and sometimes even testing proves everything works on the first pass and not as much time is needed.
  • Lower points means easier to: review what needs to be changed, program, test, and get feedback on.
• Lastly, each card has a priority (“Highest”, “High”, “Medium”, “Low”, “Lowest”)
  • We ranked priorities for moderation and community security separately from general items. But you can see the general items below those. We plan to work on most moderation & general items together, so one “Highest” here, one “Highest” there.

Our roadmap does not attempt to answer the exact deadline of efforts. It does however attempt to help us understand:

• What we’re working on
• What the status is of roadmapped efforts
• What the community thinks should be worked on sooner

Yeah that last bit is very important to us. Which is why we need your help!

If you so choose to do this survey, it would mean a lot for us as we try to navigate what players want to see right now in this game, but it may take some time, there’s a ton of options put forth by our playerbase.

(We may even consider some sort of reward for filling it out, the survey’s kinda beefy. As a bonus, I’ll at least end up giving away the Golden Maps arm to three lucky participants, so stay tuned!)

Some items in the survey may differ title-wise from their Roadmap-card-counterpart, but should no less help us figure out what to work on first.

I’ll likely end this survey at the end of June.
